No Matter What

Do you have any idea what it's like having a child with alopecia. To watch them each day as their confidence fades with bullying, taunts or just simply they don't understand why them.
I do my daughter was diagnosed with it in October 2009. Through the first 2 months I watched her shed tears of frustration and ask "Why me mummy". I can't answer her questions with the answer only with "I love you, no matter what" She's 8 years old and just can't grasp the reality she can lose all her hair.

So we decided to have some fun and build a kit with posers who have no hair. Her joy at knowing that her plight was being highlighted along with many others was astounding. It's brought her out her shell and made her think well if it's there it's there let's show off.

She doesn't hide her bald spots any more. Last night she had a smile a mile wide for the first time in months when I noticed one of her spots was covered with fresh hair. She's lucky but we still have a lot of regrowth to go. The biggest one has no re-growth as yet.
